RE intent, implementation and impact
RE Knowledge organisers support our children during each topic.
At Holy Name we use the Way, The Truth and the Life scheme alongside the planning support offered by Leeds Diocese education team. These planning supports help form a wide and varied Religious Education curriculum for all children.

Virtues to Live By
The Virtues to Live By, enable children to explore each virtue over a three week period (two per half term) to improve their virtue literacy and to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the essential role the virtues play in their education. The virtues chosen are common across cultures and faiths, but are sourced from the Christian tradition. They are linked directly to work in the Diocese of Leeds on The Virtues and Character Education and can be found by following the above link.
DIOCESE OF LEEDS SCHOOLS SINGING PROGRAMME
Year 3 and Year 4 receive weekly singing sessions as part of the Diocese of Leeds Schools Singing Programme. These are delivered by an expert Choral Director from the Diocese, focusing on positive engagement with singing and supporting the Catholic life of the school through sacred music. The sessions offer practical and incremental coverage of areas of the music curriculum – including notation – in a two-year curriculum framework developed by the Diocese, the National Schools Singing Programme and the National Youth Choir of Scotland. Pupils also have the opportunity to join one of the Diocese’s acclaimed after-school choirs. You can find online resources that support this work on the Schools Singing Programme’s YouTube channel (www.schoolssingingprogramme.org.uk). Our local Diocese choir is Bradford Catholic Youth Choir – please contact office@dioceseofleedsmusic.org.uk for more information about joining.
